Meet the people changing customs for good

Expert technologists, enterprise engineers and product designers, united by one belief: the people who keep trade moving deserve tools that move with them

OUR MISSION

We exist to bring the standard of modern technology to customs

We exist to bring the standard of modern technology to customs

What would customs look like if it were designed around the people who do it every day?

Before DutyDeclared, logistics had modernised almost everything around it; and yet, customs still meant retyping invoices, second-guessing codes and chasing the detail that was always missing

As engineers, product designers and enterprise leaders, we knew what good technology should feel like: simple enough to pick up in minutes, and clear enough to show its working

And so, DutyDeclared began

WHY US

A different lens on an old problem

A different lens on an old problem

Our founding team hails from modern software, digital transformation and product design, where good technology is simply expected

So when we looked at customs, we saw it the way you do: a demanding job that deserves tools as clear and intuitive as the ones you use everywhere else

That view shapes every decision we make, and it’s why businesses are leaving platforms they’ve relied on for decades to work with us

THE TEAM

The people behind a better way

The people behind a better way

From your first login to your hundredth declaration, these are the people making sure DutyDeclared works for you

Joshua Oliver

CEO and Co-founder

Joshua spent over 15 years selling and scaling enterprise software globally, in markets where mistakes aren't an option. Connecting data, applications and devices at MuleSoft, then defending against AI powered fraud at Transmit Security, he learnt what regulated businesses need from their tools: trust, precision and an experience people want to use. Customs was still waiting for all three

André Moresco

CTO & Co-founder

André has built software people rely on every day, from platforms in Brazil to a fintech app that reached 6,000 users in its first month; he masterfully bridges the gap between engineers and the people they build for. Collaboration across the import export lifecycle is a gap that needs closing; André is closing it now

Alexandre Gibson

Chief Product Officer

Alex is a product executive with 20 years leading strategy team of 60 engineers at VW automotive, and large teams in healthcare and B2B SaaS. He as a certified change practitioner, he knows great software only matters if people switch to it; at DutyDeclared, he makes sure they want to

Sophie Ranner

Customer Success Manager

Sophie brings half a decade of hands-on experience handling import and export declarations at a major UK port. Having managed the exact day-to-day clearance workflows our users navigate, she understands precisely where submissions get stuck and what frictionless processing requires. That front-line insight directly guides platform development, client onboarding, and ongoing user support as operations expand.

What we believe

Complexity is no excuse for a poor experience

Complexity is no excuse for a poor experience

The more demanding the task, the more thoughtfully the tool should be designed; people who manage customs deserve technology that feels as clear and intuitive as the tools they use elsewhere

Where we’re heading

Today, the declaration; tomorrow, the whole shipment

Today, the declaration; tomorrow, the whole shipment

A declaration is just one part of moving goods, so we’re building towards a platform for the whole journey, from the first invoice to the final audit; brokers, forwarders and importers will all see the same information, in one place, and we’re shaping it with our customers, based on what they need most

You’ve met the team; now meet the platform
